June 2026 - Ecological Healthy Planting in Chew Valley
Healthy, abundant planting starts with healthy soil.
As an ecological gardener, I actively practise no-dig gardening, improving the soil with generous top dressings of well-rotted manure and organic mulches rather than disturbing it. By feeding the soil, we feed the plants—resulting in stronger growth, healthier gardens and vibrant displays throughout the seasons.
Here are just a few examples from the gardens I help manage, where healthy planting sits alongside a range of wildlife-friendly and sustainable garden features. It's a simple approach that works with nature, building fertile soil while creating beautiful, resilient gardens.
